Quick Bites: Get in the Kitchen Bit@ches

Hi! For your Friday, here's a two-for-one. I'm reviewing a cookbook... and giving it away! Woohoo!

Now, brace yourselves (if you haven't already by the excitement of a giveaway!) because this cookbook ain't your grammy's cookbook. Called "Get Back in the Kitchen Bit@hes!," its the second installment of this excellent, no-holds-barred guide by author Jason Bailin for cooking up all sorts of delicious dishes with the sole purpose of making you smile and laugh while doing it.

And, he succeeds. I'm certainly laughing! The cookbooks are written with totally brash, seriously funny, in-your-face humor. Dish titles? Brace yourselves again: there's the dish that started it all, Poke Me! Pork, plus Thai Me Down Chicken, Lick Me Linguine, Mother Clucker Meatloaf, Pimp Me Out Pasta... well, you get the idea. But, they're real recipes -- all 65 of them -- designed for all us average gals and guys. And, each one comes with a "S&M" suggestion -- sides and more! of course, and "words of wisdom" about the flavor  pairings and how to make each dish just right. A mini, witty, education lesson.

I love this as a holiday gift because he has recipes you, me, the hubs, our little bro, anyone can cook. He categorizes dishes by the culinary skill required to make... "dumb ass," "the little chef that could" and "are you f%@king kidding me?" He also tells you must-have kitchen tools (so this would make the perfect gift for a guy or gal getting their own place for the first time... or a man you want to get in the kitchen, bit@ches! --- wow, I'm already talking like him!)

At the end of the day, all the smack talk in the cookbook and on his facebook page (he has almost 7,000 fans who love his daily verbal "abuse") is really done with a good heart. After all, he dedicates the book to his grandmother, Florie, who recently passed... what heartless bastard would do that? :)

To buy the bit@hin' cookbooks (just $14.95 for the latest edition and $12.95 for the first), go here. To enter our contest, keep reading...

So now to the fun stuff: THE CONTEST!
One of you bit@hin' gals will win a set of his two books, "Get in the Kitchen Bit@hes!" and "Get Back in the Kitchen Bit@hes!
To enter... it's reeeaallllyy easy:
-- Post on my facebook page who you'd give one of these bit@hin' cookbooks to and why. You must post your response in my status bar on this topic in order to be eligible.
The entry with the most "likes" wins! So, get your fabulous friends to stop on by and like your post! And, stop by his Facbook page to get some smack talk inspiration. :)
(tip: I'll keep this the status all weekend long, however there will be new posts... so you might have to scroll down).
Contest ends Monday, December 6, 2010.

PS: it's my intention, as I'm confident of the author's, that this is just for fun. The topic, or concept and images, is not meant to offend anyone especially women. If this average gal felt that way, I would never mention it, let alone highlight its merits! I do hope you'll agree with me. Especially since Friday's are meant to be fun (and a little sassy, right?).
