Mother's Day special

"Being a full-time mother is one of the highest salaried jobs in my field, since the payment is pure love."
Mildred C. Vermont

"When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child."
Sophia Loren

To all you mamas out there, Happy Mother's Day!
As a mom of a 17-month old chickie, I am loving this day to celebrate...
hopefully with a few minutes extra sleep, some tasty food and of course, time with my fam.

At the same time, I think... umm, why aren't we celebrating moms every day? While it's the most rewarding and fulfilling job out there, it's also a damn hard job that certainly deserves more than one day out of 365!

Being a mom has given me infinite wisdom and respect for my mama and all mamas out there.
Honestly, don't think you can totally get it until you're in this position.
When I bathe my daughter, I picture my mom doing the same and my gram doing that for my mom.
Incredible, right? Consider those moments of your past. It's amazing and to heartwarming to think about.
Here's a fun pic from my baby album of me a few weeks old (circle April 1980) with my mom.
Where are those sunnies, mom? Need those and this totally hot leather blazer (below)! And, can't believe I was being strolled around in this gorgeous carriage by such a gorgeous woman.
I'm a lucky gal.

And, about 29 years later, here's me with my baby girl, Sarah, just one day after she was born.

About a year later (Dec. 2010), she's already a little girl. Oh, how the time flies. I still get cuddles but they're a little harder to come by. This cutie is a girl on the go!

I am so grateful for my mother, an incredible strong, determined and loving woman who gave me life and continues to give me strength, support, love and guidance each day.
Here's the three of us after we enjoyed some bagels; a fam favorite!

Wishing all you mother's out there a very special day. Enjoy every second.

"All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother."
Abe Lincoln
