Do Not Wear: Wide Leg Gone Wrong

Oh my gosh, what designer would make this for women??
With this post I'm starting a DO NOT WEAR feature where this gal will share with you items
that just because you see them -- and even if someone promotes them as the new "in" look ---
DO. NOT. WEAR.

My goodness, these are offensive.
Stacy London of TLC's "What Not to Wear" would have a field day.
Notice how even the tall skinny minnies wearing them look at least 20 lbs heavier in the hips and thighs?!
Bad news.
And, yes, they could be comfy but a cropped or capri super wide-leg?
Never. You want your wide leg pants as long as possible. Down to the floor, baby!
I'm not even including a link to where you can find these, except to tell you that they're $82.

Remember: Wide-leg pants CAN be super flattering. A few considerations:
Opt for a pair that skims the ground, and have them hemmed to look perfect with your wedges or heels.
They look best when you can get as much height as possible.
If you're bigger, avoid a super flare and opt for a nice straight or trouser leg so you look long and lean.
If you're petite, avoid flats.

Here, Kristina of Pretty Shiny Sparkly, a fashion and style blog I adore, shows you how to wear it...
Ahhh, much better! And, try a tucked-in shirt, too. Check out more of Kristina's site, too.

This is the truth. Promise.
Think of TAGG as your bff who's going to tell you like it is.
(and if you already have a pair, sorry!
Just take a sec to look in the mirror and decide if this is the most flattering version of you).

Ick- these are awful! I'm glad you are spreading the message that what's "in" is not always fashionable or flattering. Sometimes I don't even follow trends that are cute just because the look isn't flattering on me (a la super skinny jeans- out of the 100 pairs I've tried on, zero looked even kind of ok). This look won't flatter anyone, though!!!

Hahaha!!! I love this! I've always been confused by this type of pants. I just can't imagine that it would be flattering on anyone.

Sometimes, you gotta wonder! Remember gauchos? Geez, I couldn't understand the fad when it happened. Thank goodness, that went away quickly - but I see they're trying to make a comeback in a different form. But it's.still.the.same.

    Great wrong vs right post!

Hahaha so glad we're all on the same page, ladies! I saw these and was like what the?!
Ying: totally remember gouchos. There's so many styles I just don't get. It's a shame because the wide leg can be so flattering when done right.

    Lesson learned! Thank for commenting!
