Outfit: Baby Shower

Baby showers abound! In an eight-day span, I have two baby showers and a 2 year-old's birthday party. But, a baby shower in January? What do I wear?!  In Florida, it's kind of cold, but not really, and it's winter but it's Florida. For shower #1, I debated between an Anthropologie darker-pattern skirt with tights or this dress. Pretty evident which won! I'm thrilled I went with this just-purchased navy dress from Gap, which wasn't overly wintery or summery.

What's awesome about a navy dress is that anything goes. Every closet should have one. I recently found this one on a total steal at Gap; I loved it because it's silky on top and more of a linen on the bottom. Like black, navy is a super-versatile neutral: I had about six pairs of totally different shoes that all looked great, but my trusty linens with a bow detailing won out; have worn these out for at least five years!

Consider this when wearing separates or dresses... create totally different looks with the same items. It triples your wardrobe, promise! Don't get stuck in the rut of assuming one blouse matches best with a specific skirt, for example. Mix it up, hot stuff! See you Monday with another outfit post. xo

{wishing the best to my sorority sister, roomie and all-around awesome friend; go gators!}
