Quick Bites: WF Blueberry Cornbread

I'm almost not sure I should be sharing this one with you gals for fear that the next time I venture into Whole Foods my beloved blueberry cornbread will be gone. Did I mention this slice of deliciousness is low-fat, relatively healthy and positively delicious? 

Let me fill you in: this puppy is moist and flavorful, yet has a nice density to it and always has loads of juicy blueberries in it. Before eating it though, just put your nose up to it and take a deep breath. I call this smell pure heaven. Enjoy your cornbread with a hot cup of coffee, your morning paper (not one on your iPhone or iPad, a legitimate newspaper; yes they do still sell them!), and just enjoy a relaxing few minutes to yourself. It's worth it.

The cornbread can be found in the bakery area, sometimes in portioned pieces like you see in the picture above by the bakery and sometimes a bigger piece sold closer to the breads and pastries. As for the actual health factor, Whole Foods used to refer to the cornbread as "low fat," yet not anymore. Don't worry though. As soon as you read the ingredients you can feel confident you're eating something that's good for you. Check it out. It's not laden down with loads of oil, eggs and sugar. There's apple juice, wheat flour, egg whites and more. Healthy, man. Very healthy.

Pick up a piece and see for yourself. Many of my friends are WF blueberry cornbread converts and after one bite, I'm sure you will be too. I'd never steer you wrong... especially when it comes to food. Happy eating.
